The Erie Economic Council is a non-profit (501C6), public/private partnership dedicated to enhancing the economic well-being of the Erie area. Its board is comprised of employers, Erie Chamber of Commerce, members of the Board of Trustees or Town staff, and the community at large.

MISSION

The mission of the Erie Economic Development Council is to enhance the economic well being of the Erie area. The goals of the Economic Council are:

•           Support existing primary employers
•           Retain, diversify and expand the primary employer base
•           Attract commercial/retain business
•           Diversify and expand Erie’s tax base
•           Continue to improve Erie’s economic amenities

OPERATIONAL STRATEGY

To accomplish its mission and meet its goals, the Erie Economic Development Council must have an operational strategy to meet the needs of the organization, its constituents and the primary companies it intends to serve.  The goals of this operational strategy are to:

•           Support existing industry by improving the EDC’s value added services
•           Attract new primary industry to the Erie area
•           Increase awareness of the community about the EDC and the importance of primary jobs
•           Increase private revenue for the Erie Economic Development Council; and
•           Meet its contractual responsibilities with the Town of Erie and Boulder County Partnership
